Hello, I just wanted to let you know what’s going on today. I hope to get my early garden planted today. I’ll be planting peas (snow and the shelling kind), parsnips, lettuce, radishes, spinach, and beets in the kitchen garden. I’ll also plant arugula in the herb garden.

Yesterday I planted a lilac. A French Hybrid type named Atheline Wilbur. I also planted a wine grape named LaCrescent, which is a new introduction from the University of Minnesota. It is a high acid type white grape, and is very cold hardy surviving temps to -36 degrees F.

I’m replacing a juice jelly  grape that died. I have room for four grapes  on my fence, and found that I’m getting to much jelly. I already give about half of the jelly away, so time to make wine. It should be a fun experiment.

Well that’s today’s info.
