The first seed catalogs are here, now we can dream. Dream about giant vegetables and flowers. All growing in next years garden. Winter is not here yet, but spring is comming, thanks to the seed and nursery catalogs. I also got word that Nichols won’t have a printed catalog for 2012, they are going to have it on the website as well as having a down-loadable PDF catalog. The website is www.nicholsgardennursery.com.

The catalogs I got in the mail are Stokes Seeds (www.StokesSeeds.com), Pinetree Garden Seeds (www.superseeds.com), and Totally Tomatoes (totallytomato.com). So many different varrities, it’s good that it’s sill November. I have time to dream a great dream. The garden of 2012.

Gardener Mel called today to say he will most likely get released from the hospital on Friday, if all goes good. I can’t wait to see him in the garden again. He sounds like he can’t wait to do a garden tour. His family has been planting, and he wants to show it off bumps and all. I can’t wait to see it. I have to admit that that I’ve been slacking on the garden tours this year, partly because Mel always wanted to do them and this helped get me to do them for my garden.Well that’s the update. Hopefully we’ll see gardener Mel back in the garden where he belongs shortly.

Hi there, farmer Dave here. I have some news about gardener Mel it’s not very good news. Gardener Mel is very sick and has been in the hospital since last week Monday, which is why I haven’t been working on the site as much as I should and which is why haven’t made any new videos from Gardener Mel or myself. Everybody should keep Mel in your mind, and pray for him he needs all the help he can get. He is going through a very hard time, we found out that his heart is failing we’re all praying that he has better news and a great recovery. Admittedly Mel was not very healthy he didn’t get enough exercise and he drank bit too much. Now he’ll have to give up drinking and concentrate on getting his health back. So if you’re in a position to help yourself. Get your exercise, See your doctor, and take any medications he gives you.  These are all things that Mel didn’t do. I’m sure he would if he could do it all over again but now he has to concentrate in getting his health back.

Let’s all wish Mel the best and hope for a rapid recovery.  I can’t wait to make the next gardener Mel’s garden tour video for you on this website.please stay tuned for updates.
